Samsung Ativ Tab Review

Samsung Ativ Tab is an impressive Windows portable tablet released in 2012, including a high performance Dual-Core processor ticking at 1.5 GHz, a really big 10.1" touch-screen, and 2 cameras, a 5 MP back side camera and a 1.9 megapixels front camera. But it's time to get into some more details.

The Samsung Ativ Tab is very thin and comfortable, with a thickness of just 0.35". The Samsung Ativ Tab only has 10.46 inches long and 6.62 inches wide, but it manages to hold a 10.1 inches display. Samsung didn't seem to put much effort to reduce weight in this 20.11 oz tablet.

This device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus APQ8060A system chip, holding a high-tech 1.5 GHz Dual-Core processor and a great 2 GB of RAM. To collaborate with graphic calculations, this tablet also uses an Adreno 225 graphics processing unit speeding at 400 megahertz. A good point of this tablet is its huge 32 GB internal storage memory and an SD extension slot, enough to install lots of apps, games, photos and videos without thinking about filling it.

This device includes a nice 768 x 1366 10.1" screen, making everything look nice. This screen uses LCD capacitive technology, and has multi-touch detection.

This device features wi-fi capability (but it can't be shared with other devices around, acting as a wireless modem). This tablet doesn't have a sim card, because it isn't a GSM portable tablet.

The Samsung Ativ Tab features two cameras, a 5 MP back facing camera and a 1.9 megapixels front camera. It can also capture HD 1280x720 videos. This camera also has a couple of nice features: flash, auto-focus and geo tagging.

This tablet comes with a big 8200 mAh Li-Ion non-replaceable battery, enough to provide this tablet with a great battery duration. An issue to consider is that this device's battery is not removable so you won't be able to replace it when it starts to last shorter, whereas with such a huge battery size you will probably discard this tablet before that happens.

The Samsung Ativ Tab also includes a couple interesting features like NFC, Bluetooth (4.0) and GPS Navigation, and plenty of sensors like Light Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Compass.

This device is being sold for 50 dollars, a quite low price for a tablet this level. It doesn't matter whether you you love taking pictures, will use it for gaming, want a social tablet or need it for work, this tablet device is very appropiate .
