The Galaxy J7 Star has an overall score of 73.1, which is slightly better than the Alcatel Idol 5S's score of 67.8. Although the Galaxy J7 Star is newer than Alcatel Idol 5S, it is thicker and somewhat heavier. These phones work with Android OS (Operating System), but the Galaxy J7 Star has 9.0 Pie version while Alcatel Idol 5S has Android 7.1 Nougat, giving a lot of extra features.

The Alcatel Idol 5S counts with a brighter display than Galaxy J7 Star, because although it has a little smaller display, it also counts with a way better resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a way better pixel count per inch of screen. Samsung Galaxy J7 Star captures a little bit better photographs and videos than Alcatel Idol 5S, because although it has a smaller back camera sensor taking less light and dull colors, and they both have the same video frame rate and the same 1920x1080 video quality, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Star also counts with a bigger aperture to take better low-light photography and video and a more mega-pixels back camera.

Despite of being the best phone in our current comparison, Galaxy J7 Star is also a lot cheaper, which makes this phone a great choice.
