Galaxy Z Fold 2 is a little bit better than the iPhone 12 Pro Max, with a score of 94.6 against 93.2. Although the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and iPhone 12 Pro Max were released with only a couple months difference, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 design is just a little bit thinner but somewhat heavier than iPhone 12 Pro Max. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 has Android 11 operating system, and iPhone 12 Pro Max has iOS 15.x operating system.
The Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max counts with a little better hardware performance than Galaxy Z Fold 2, because although it has a lower amount of RAM and less 3.1 GHz processing cores, it also counts with a 64 bits processor. IPhone 12 Pro Max counts with a much better screen than Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2, because although it has a quite lower resolution of 1284 x 2778 pixels and a little bit smaller screen, it also counts with a little bit better pixel density.
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 has a little bit better camera than iPhone 12 Pro Max, although it has a tinier aperture which is not so good for low light photos, they both have the same video frame rate, the same 3840x2160 video quality and a 12 mega pixels camera. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 features a much better storage to store more apps and games than Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max, because it has 256 GB internal memory.

Although Galaxy Z Fold 2 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max. So if you need that extra specs, you can buy the Galaxy Z Fold 2, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and buy the Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max, letting go some specifications.
