Apple iPhone 6 Plus is a little bit better than the Xperia Z3, getting an 80.4 score against 77.3. The Apple iPhone 6 Plus construction is thinner but a little heavier than the Xperia Z3, and both of them were only released with a few months difference. The Apple iPhone 6 Plus has iOS 8.x OS, and Xperia Z3 has Android 4.4.4 OS.
Sony Xperia Z3 features a bit better processing unit than Apple iPhone 6 Plus, because although it has a 32 bits CPU against 64-bits, and they both have a 450 megahertz GPU, the Sony Xperia Z3 also counts with more processing cores and 2 GB more RAM memory. Xperia Z3 counts with a little bit better screen than Apple iPhone 6 Plus, because although it has a quite smaller screen, and they both have exactly the same 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, the Xperia Z3 also counts with a just a bit higher pixel quantity in each screen inch and a bit more brightness.

Although Apple iPhone 6 Plus is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Sony Xperia Z3, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Sony Xperia Z3. So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy Apple iPhone 6 Plus, otherwise you can save some dollars and get the Sony Xperia Z3, giving up some specifications.
