The iPhone 8 Plus has a general score of 87.1, which is a bit better than the Galaxy S5's global score of 80.8. The iPhone 8 Plus is a way newer and a little thinner phone than the Galaxy S5, but it's much heavier. Galaxy S5 counts with a better screen than iPhone 8 Plus, because although it has a little smaller screen, and they both have an equal resolution of 1920 x 1080, the Galaxy S5 also counts with a higher pixels quantity in each inch in the screen.

The Apple iPhone 8 Plus counts with a much greater storage capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Galaxy S5, because although it has no slot for SD memory cards, it also counts with 224 GB more internal storage capacity. IPhone 8 Plus features a bit better processing unit than Galaxy S5, because although it has doesn't have an additional graphics processor, and they both have a 3 GB RAM memory, the iPhone 8 Plus also counts with 2 more processing cores and a 64 bits processing unit.

Galaxy S5 has just a bit better battery lifetime than Apple iPhone 8 Plus, because it has a 4 percent more battery size. The Apple iPhone 8 Plus takes slightly better photographs and videos than Samsung Galaxy S5, because although it has a tinier back-facing camera sensor taking worse quality images, a camera with a lot worse 12 megapixels resolution and a worse video quality, it also counts with a bigger camera aperture to capture better images and videos in low light environments.

Although Apple iPhone 8 Plus is a better device, it costs a lot more than Galaxy S5, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Galaxy S5. If you prefer to save some dollars, you can buy the Galaxy S5, letting go a few specs and features, but you'll get the most out of your savings.
