The Apple iPhone 8 Plus has a score of 87.1, which is better than Galaxy S5 Sport's 77.8 score. Even though Apple iPhone 8 Plus is a lot heavier than Galaxy S5 Sport, it's somewhat thinner and also much newer. The Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport features a bit sharper screen than iPhone 8 Plus, because although it has a quite smaller screen, and they both have the same resolution of 1920 x 1080px, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport also counts with a just a little better count of pixels in each inch in the screen.
Apple iPhone 8 Plus counts with a way bigger memory for applications, games, photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport, because although it has no slot for SD memory cards, it also counts with 256 GB internal storage. Apple iPhone 8 Plus features just a little better hardware performance than Galaxy S5 Sport, because although it has doesn't have a GPU, it also counts with more RAM memory, a 64-bit processing unit and more CPU cores (although slower).
The Apple iPhone 8 Plus captures slightly better pictures and videos than Galaxy S5 Sport, because although it has a back facing camera with lot less mega-pixels, a lower 3840x2160 (4K) video quality and a smaller sensor providing a lower image quality, it also counts with a bigger camera aperture.

If you want to save some money, you can buy the Galaxy S5 Sport, letting go a few specs and features, but you will get the most with your budget.
