The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 has an overall score of 94.6, which is slightly better than the iPhone 8 Plus's 87.1 general score. Even though Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is much heavier than the iPhone 8 Plus, it's just a little thinner and newer. The iPhone 8 Plus features just a bit better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2, because although it has less RAM and an inferior number of slower cores, it also counts with a 64 bits CPU.
The iPhone 8 Plus counts with a bit better screen than Galaxy Z Fold 2, because although it has a way smaller display and a much lower resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, it also counts with a little better pixel count in each inch of screen. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 has a bit better camera than iPhone 8 Plus, and although they both have a F1.8 camera aperture, the same 3840x2160 video resolution, the same video frame rate and a back-facing camera with a 12 MP, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 also has a way larger back camera sensor.
Galaxy Z Fold 2 and iPhone 8 Plus count with really similar memory for apps and games, both have equal 256 GB internal storage. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 features a way better battery duration than iPhone 8 Plus, because it has 4500mAh of battery capacity instead of 2691mAh.
Although Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than iPhone 8 Plus, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as iPhone 8 Plus. So if you need that extra features, you can buy Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2, otherwise you can save some dollars and get the iPhone 8 Plus, giving up some features and specifications.
