The iPhone 8 Plus is better than the Xperia Z5, getting an 87.1 score against 77.6. IPhone 8 Plus's construction is incredibly newer than the Xperia Z5's, but it's a lot heavier and just a little thicker. IPhone 8 Plus counts with a bit faster processor than Xperia Z5, because although it has a lower number of cores and doesn't have an extra graphics processing unit, and they both have 3 GB of RAM, the iPhone 8 Plus also counts with a 64-bits processing unit.
Sony Xperia Z5 has a little bit better looking display than iPhone 8 Plus, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, and they both have exactly the same resolution of 1920 x 1080px, the Sony Xperia Z5 also counts with a quite greater pixel number per inch in the screen. Sony Xperia Z5 counts with a bit better camera than Apple iPhone 8 Plus, because although it has lower 30 fps video frame rates, and they both have the same aperture and the same (4K) video quality, the Sony Xperia Z5 also counts with a way larger sensor and a back-facing camera with a way better 23 MP resolution.
The iPhone 8 Plus features a much greater storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Sony Xperia Z5, because although it has no slot for SD memory cards, it also counts with 256 GB internal memory. Sony Xperia Z5 counts with a bit superior battery life than Apple iPhone 8 Plus, because it has an 8 percent more battery capacity.
Although iPhone 8 Plus is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Sony Xperia Z5, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Sony Xperia Z5. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy iPhone 8 Plus, but if you don't you can save some dollars and get the Sony Xperia Z5, resigning some specifications.
