Comparison review

Apple iPhone XS has an overall score of 84.2, which is slightly better than Galaxy S9's 83.3 score. Although Apple iPhone XS and the Galaxy S9 were only released with a couple of months difference, Apple iPhone XS's design is just a bit heavier but also just a little bit thinner than the Galaxy S9.

Samsung Galaxy S9 features a screen that's very similar to the display in iPhone XS, and although the Samsung Galaxy S9 has a just a little higher display density and a higher 1440 x 2960 resolution, they both have a screen of the same size. The Samsung Galaxy S9 counts with a much better memory capacity to store more games and applications than iPhone XS, and although they both have the same 64 GB internal storage capacity, the Samsung Galaxy S9 also has a slot for an external memory card that allows a maximum of 400 GB.

Apple iPhone XS features a bit better processor than Samsung Galaxy S9, because although it has an inferior number of cores, and they both have the same RAM memory amount, the Apple iPhone XS also counts with a 64-bit processor. Galaxy S9 shoots a little bit better photos and videos than iPhone XS, and although they both have a back-facing camera with a 12 mega-pixels, the same video frame rates, the same 3840x2160 (4K) video definition and the same back-facing camera sensor size, the Galaxy S9 also has a bigger aperture to take better photography and video in poorly lited situations.

Galaxy S9 has just a little better battery lifetime than iPhone XS, because it has a 13% larger battery capacity.

Although Apple iPhone XS is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Galaxy S9, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Galaxy S9. So if you want that extra features, you can buy the Apple iPhone XS, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and buy the Galaxy S9, giving up some features and specifications.
