The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra has a general score of 87.1, which is a little bit better than the Asus ROG Phone 8's 79.5 general score. The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra body is just a bit thinner and lighter than Asus ROG Phone 8, even though both of them were released with only a couple months difference. Both phones in this review include the same Android 14 operating system, so they should provide the same operating system features.

The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra has a processing unit that is very similar to the Asus ROG Phone 8 one, both of them have a Octa-Core processor and a 12 GB RAM. The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra has a bit sharper screen than Asus ROG Phone 8, because although it has a little smaller screen, and they both have exactly the same 1080 x 2400 resolution and the same display brightness, the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra also counts with a just a bit greater number of pixels per display inch.

The Asus ROG Phone 8 takes just a bit better videos and photos than Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, because although it has a tinier camera aperture which is not good for capturing images or video in poorly lited environments and a tinier back-facing camera sensor capturing lower quality videos and photos, and they both have a back-facing camera with a 50 MP, the Asus ROG Phone 8 also counts with a lot higher video quality.

The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra features a lot bigger memory to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Asus ROG Phone 8, because it has 512 GB internal memory. The Asus ROG Phone 8 has improved battery performance than Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, because it has a 22 percent more battery capacity.
