Comparison review
The Galaxy A42 has a global score of 87, which is just a bit better than Asus ROG Phone 8's global score of 79.5. Even though Galaxy A42 is much older than the Asus ROG Phone 8, it's design is somewhat lighter and just a little bit thinner. Both phones in our current comparison have Android OS, but the Galaxy A42 has the older 11 version while Asus ROG Phone 8 has Android 14.
Asus ROG Phone 8 has an incredibly better screen than Galaxy A42, because it has a higher pixels density, a quite larger screen and a lot better 1080 x 2400 resolution. Samsung Galaxy A42 features more storage capacity to store more apps and games than Asus ROG Phone 8, because although it has less internal memory, it also counts with a SD memory slot that admits a maximum of 1000 GB.
The Galaxy A42 has a way better hardware performance than Asus ROG Phone 8, although it has 8 GB lesser RAM memory, they both have a Octa-Core processing unit. Asus ROG Phone 8 has just a bit better battery duration than Galaxy A42, because it has a 5500mAh battery size. Asus ROG Phone 8 shoots much better photos and videos than Galaxy A42, because although it has a tinier camera aperture which is not favorable for low light photos and videos, it also counts with a more mega-pixels back-facing camera and a way better video definition.
