Comparison review
The Xperia 1 VI has an overall score of 83.2, which is just a bit better than the Asus ROG Phone 8's 79.5 general score. The Xperia 1 VI design is way lighter and thinner than the Asus ROG Phone 8. Both of these phones come with the same Android 14 operating system, so they should give you identical operating system features.
Asus ROG Phone 8 features a better display than Xperia 1 VI, although it has a way worse resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a little bit smaller screen and a lot lesser pixels per inch in the display. The Sony Xperia 1 VI features a much better memory capacity to store more apps and games than Asus ROG Phone 8, and although they both have exactly the same 256 GB internal memory capacity, the Sony Xperia 1 VI also has a SD memory card expansion slot that holds a maximum of 1 TB.
Xperia 1 VI has a processor that is just as good as Asus ROG Phone 8's CPU, both have a Octa-Core CPU and the same RAM amount. The Asus ROG Phone 8 features just a little bit longer battery performance than Xperia 1 VI, because it has a 5500mAh battery capacity against 5000mAh. The Asus ROG Phone 8 features a bit better camera than Sony Xperia 1 VI, because although it has a smaller back camera sensor offering a lower image quality, and they both have a same size aperture, the Asus ROG Phone 8 also counts with a back facing camera with a better resolution and a lot better video resolution.
