The Sony Xperia 5 III has an overall score of 90.5, which is much better than the Asus ROG Phone 8's global score of 79.5. The Sony Xperia 5 III construction is just a bit thinner and extremely lighter than Asus ROG Phone 8, despite of the fact that it was released 3 years before. Both phones in this review work with Android OS (operating system), but Sony Xperia 5 III has an older 11 version while Asus ROG Phone 8 has Android 14.

Asus ROG Phone 8 counts with a much better looking screen than Xperia 5 III, because although it has a little bit lower resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a quite worse number of pixels per display inch, it also counts with a quite bigger display. The Xperia 5 III features a really superior hardware performance than Asus ROG Phone 8, although it has a lower amount of RAM memory, they both have 8 cpu cores.

The Asus ROG Phone 8 counts with a much better camera than Sony Xperia 5 III, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not recommended for low light photography and videos, it also counts with a lot higher 7680x4320 video quality, a larger sensor providing a higher image quality and a back facing camera with lot more mega-pixels.

Xperia 5 III counts with much more memory to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Asus ROG Phone 8, and although they both have equal internal storage capacity, the Xperia 5 III also has an external SD slot that admits a maximum of 1 TB. The Asus ROG Phone 8 counts with greater battery life than Sony Xperia 5 III, because it has a 22% larger battery capacity.
