The Huawei Mate 9 Pro has an overall score of 78.7, which is a little bit better than Asus ZenFone 4's overall score of 74.2. The Huawei Mate 9 Pro is a just a bit heavier phone than Asus ZenFone 4, but they are equally thin. Both devices in our current comparison work with the same Android 8.0 Oreo operating system, so you shouldn't see any differences regarding operating system features.
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro counts with a bit more vivid screen than Asus ZenFone 4, and although they both have a screen of the same size, the Huawei Mate 9 Pro also has a higher 1440 x 2560 resolution and a higher pixels quantity per screen inch. The Huawei Mate 9 Pro has a bit faster processing unit than Asus ZenFone 4, and although they both have a Octa-Core CPU, the Huawei Mate 9 Pro also has 2 GB more RAM.
Asus ZenFone 4 counts with much more memory capacity to store more apps and games than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, because although it has 0 less internal memory, it also counts with an external memory slot that allows a maximum of 1,95 TB. Huawei Mate 9 Pro features greater battery performance than Asus ZenFone 4, because it has a 21% bigger battery capacity.
Huawei Mate 9 Pro's camera is just as good as the camera in Asus ZenFone 4, and although the Huawei Mate 9 Pro has a smaller back-facing camera sensor taking worse quality images and a smaller aperture, they both have the same (4K) video quality, a back facing camera with a 12 mega pixels resolution and the same video frame rate.

So if you want that extra specs, you can buy the Huawei Mate 9 Pro, else you can save some dollars and buy the Asus ZenFone 4, letting go a couple specifications.
