Samsung Galaxy Note 5 has an overall score of 79.3, which is just a bit better than the Asus ZenFone 4's overall score of 74.2. Both of these phones include Android OS, but the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 has the previous 5.1 version while Asus ZenFone 4 has Android 8.0 Oreo version. Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is a just a bit heavier cellphone than Asus ZenFone 4, but both of them have the same thickness.

Asus ZenFone 4 features a bit faster processing unit than Samsung Galaxy Note 5, and although they both have the same RAM memory amount, the Asus ZenFone 4 also has a higher number of cores. The Galaxy Note 5 features a bit better looking display than Asus ZenFone 4, because it has more pixels per screen inch, a quite larger screen and a better 2560 x 1440 resolution.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 takes a bit better photographs and videos than Asus ZenFone 4, because although it has a tinier sensor which gives a worse photo and video quality and a smaller aperture which is worse for low-light photography and video, and they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rate and the same 3840x2160 video resolution, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 also counts with a back-facing camera with much more megapixels.

Asus ZenFone 4 counts with a very superior storage capacity for apps and games than Samsung Galaxy Note 5, and although they both have exactly the same 64 GB internal storage, the Asus ZenFone 4 also has a SD extension slot that holds up to 1,95 TB. Asus ZenFone 4 counts with just a little bit longer battery lifetime than Samsung Galaxy Note 5, because it has a 10 percent greater battery capacity.

Galaxy Note 5 costs a bit more money than Asus ZenFone 4, but you can get a better phone for that extra dollars.
