The Xperia XA2 Plus is a bit better than the Asus ZenFone 4, with a general score of 78.6 against 74.2. Both phones in this review use the same Android 8.0 Oreo OS (Operating System), so you shouldn't notice any differences regarding that. Xperia XA2 Plus's construction is newer than the Asus ZenFone 4's, but it's heavier and way thicker.
Sony Xperia XA2 Plus features a bit faster processing unit than Asus ZenFone 4, and although they both have 8 CPU cores, the Sony Xperia XA2 Plus also has a larger amount of RAM memory. The Asus ZenFone 4 has a bit sharper screen than Sony Xperia XA2 Plus, because although it has a little lower 1080 x 1920 resolution, a bit lower screen pixels density and a little smaller display, it also counts with a little bit more brightness.
Xperia XA2 Plus features a little bit better camera than Asus ZenFone 4, because although it has a smaller camera aperture, and they both have the same video frame rate and the same video quality, the Xperia XA2 Plus also counts with a lot more mega pixels camera in the back and a larger sensor which gives a better image and video quality.
Asus ZenFone 4 counts with a lot bigger memory for applications and games than Sony Xperia XA2 Plus, and although they both have exactly the same internal memory, the Asus ZenFone 4 also has a slot for external memory cards that admits up to 1,95 TB. Xperia XA2 Plus has just a little bit longer battery duration than Asus ZenFone 4, because it has a 3580mAh battery capacity.
