Comparison review
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro is a little bit better than the Asus ZenFone 5z, having a global score of 78.7 against 75.3. Huawei Mate 9 Pro's design has the same thickness than the Asus ZenFone 5z, but it's a bit heavier. The Asus ZenFone 5z features a bit more powerful processor than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Asus ZenFone 5z also has more RAM memory.
Huawei Mate 9 Pro features a little more vivid screen than Asus ZenFone 5z, because although it has a little bit smaller display, it also counts with more pixels per inch in the display and a higher 1440 x 2560 resolution. Asus ZenFone 5z features a much better memory capacity to install games and applications than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, because it has a slot for an external memory card that allows a maximum of 1,95 TB and more internal storage.
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro counts with a greater camera than Asus ZenFone 5z, although it has a smaller back camera sensor taking less light and duller colors, a tinier aperture which is not good for shooting pictures in low-light environments and lower video frame rates, they both have the same 3840x2160 video quality.
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro has better battery duration than Asus ZenFone 5z, because it has a 4000mAh battery capacity.
Although Huawei Mate 9 Pro is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Asus ZenFone 5z, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Asus ZenFone 5z. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can get Asus ZenFone 5z, letting go a few features and specifications, but you'll get the most out of your money.
