Huawei Mate X has an overall score of 89.4, which is much better than Asus ZenFone 5z's 75.3 global score. Although the Huawei Mate X is newer than the Asus ZenFone 5z, it is much heavier and noticeably thicker. The Asus ZenFone 5z counts with a little more vivid display than Huawei Mate X, although it has a lot smaller display, a lot lower 1080 x 2246 pixels resolution and a bit worse screen pixel density.
Asus ZenFone 5z has a better storage capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Huawei Mate X, because although it has only 256 GB internal storage capacity, it also counts with a SD card slot that admits a maximum of 1,95 TB. Asus ZenFone 5z has just a bit better hardware performance than Huawei Mate X. They have a 8 GB RAM memory and a Octa-Core processor.
The Huawei Mate X features longer battery duration than Asus ZenFone 5z, because it has 4500mAh of battery capacity instead of 3300mAh. The Huawei Mate X shoots greater pictures and videos than Asus ZenFone 5z, and although they both have a same size camera aperture, the Huawei Mate X also has a much larger back-facing camera sensor which provides a much higher photo and video quality.
Although Huawei Mate X is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Asus ZenFone 5z, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Asus ZenFone 5z. If you are trying to save some dollars, you can buy Asus ZenFone 5z, and give up a couple features, but you'll get the most with your budget.
