Asus ZenFone 6 (2019) has a general score of 77.8, which is just a bit better than the Sony Xperia Z5's score of 77.6. Both of these phones include Android OS (operating system), but the Asus ZenFone 6 (2019) has newer 11 version and Sony Xperia Z5 has Android 5.1. Asus ZenFone 6 (2019) is a notably newer phone than Sony Xperia Z5, but it is somewhat thicker and heavier.
The Sony Xperia Z5 features a better display than Asus ZenFone 6 (2019), because although it has a little bit smaller screen and a bit lower 1920 x 1080 resolution, it also counts with a little better pixels amount per inch of display. The Asus ZenFone 6 (2019) features a slightly better camera than Xperia Z5, and although they both have a same size aperture and the same (4K) video quality, the Asus ZenFone 6 (2019) also has higher video frame rates, a back-facing camera with a lot higher resolution and a bigger camera sensor capturing higher quality videos and photos.
Although Asus ZenFone 6 (2019) is a better device, it costs more money than the Sony Xperia Z5, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Sony Xperia Z5. If you want to save some money, you can get the Sony Xperia Z5, and give up some specs and features, but you'll get the most with your money.
