Comparison review
The Galaxy A42 has a score of 87, which is a little bit better than the Asus ZenFone 8's 83 score. Both phones in this comparison review work with the same Android 11 OS, so you shouldn't notice any differences in that aspect. Galaxy A42's construction is a little bit thinner but somewhat heavier than the Asus ZenFone 8, and both of them were only released with a couple of months difference.
