Both phones in this review work with Android OS, but the Xperia Z4v has the older 5.1 version while Asus ZenFone Max (M2) has Android 9.0 Pie version. Xperia Z4v's construction weights the same than the Asus ZenFone Max (M2), but it's thicker.
Xperia Z4v has a much better screen than Asus ZenFone Max (M2), because although it has a little smaller screen, it also counts with a lot higher 2560 x 1440 resolution and a lot better screen pixel density. Sony Xperia Z4v features a little bit better hardware performance than Asus ZenFone Max (M2), because although it has a lower amount of RAM, and they both have 8 cores, the Sony Xperia Z4v also counts with a graphics processing unit.
Asus ZenFone Max (M2) counts with a much better storage to store more games and applications than Sony Xperia Z4v, because it has 64 GB internal memory and a SD memory slot that admits a maximum of 1,95 TB. The Xperia Z4v has a superior camera than Asus ZenFone Max (M2), because although it has a smaller aperture which is not recommended for taking photographs and video in poorly lited environments, and they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rate and the same video definition, the Xperia Z4v also counts with a camera with a way higher resolution.
