The Motorola Moto G9 Play has a general score of 76.7, which is a little bit better than the Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1)'s 73.1 general score. Both of these phones work with Android operating system, but the Motorola Moto G9 Play has older 10 version and Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1) has Android 9.0 Pie version. The Motorola Moto G9 Play design is notably newer, but just a little thicker and a little bit heavier than Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1).

Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1) has a better looking display than Motorola Moto G9 Play, because although it has a little smaller screen, it also counts with a way better resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels and a greater screen pixel density. Moto G9 Play has a bit more powerful processing unit than Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1). They have the same number of cores and 4 GB of RAM.

The Moto G9 Play captures much clearer videos and photos than Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1), and although they both have the same 1920x1080 video quality, the Moto G9 Play also has a much bigger aperture, a way higher resolution back facing camera and higher 60 frames per second video frame rates. The Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1) features a lot bigger memory for applications, games, photos and videos than Moto G9 Play, and although they both have exactly the same internal memory, the Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1) also has an external SD slot that supports up to 1,95 TB.

Moto G9 Play has a battery life that's just as good as the battery lifetime in Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1).
