Xperia XZ2 Premium has a global score of 82.2, which is better than Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1)'s 73.1 general score. Despite being the best in this comparison, the Xperia XZ2 Premium body is incredibly thicker and incredibly heavier than the Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1). The Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium has a bit more powerful CPU than Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1), and although they both have the same number of cores, the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium also has 2 GB more RAM memory.

Xperia XZ2 Premium counts with a much sharper display than Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1), because although it has a quite smaller display, it also counts with a much higher resolution of 2160 x 3840, a lot brighter display and a way higher pixels number per display inch. The Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1) counts with a lot bigger storage to store more apps and games than Xperia XZ2 Premium, and although they both have equal internal storage, the Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1) also has a slot for external memory cards that supports up to 1,95 TB.

Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium features a superior camera than Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1), and although they both have the same 3840x2160 video resolution, the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium also has faster 30 frames per second video frame rates, a way better resolution back camera and a larger aperture to take better low-light images and video.

Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1) has a way better battery lifetime than Xperia XZ2 Premium, because it has 5000mAh of battery capacity against 3540mAh.

Although Xperia XZ2 Premium is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1), and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1). So if you want that extra specs, you can buy Xperia XZ2 Premium, else you can save some dollars and buy the Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1), resigning a couple features and specs.
