Comparison review
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro has a general score of 78.7, which is a bit better than Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2)'s 77.4 overall score. Although Huawei Mate 9 Pro is older than Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2), it's construction is just a bit thinner and just a little lighter. Both of these phones use Android operating system, but Huawei Mate 9 Pro has an older 8.0 Oreo version and Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2) has Android 9.0 Pie version.
Huawei Mate 9 Pro counts with a slightly better looking display than Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2), because although it has a quite smaller screen, it also counts with a better quantity of pixels per screen inch and a better 1440 x 2560 resolution. The Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2) features a much greater storage capacity for apps and games than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and although they both have exactly the same internal storage, the Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2) also has an external memory slot that supports a maximum of 1,95 TB.
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro has a little faster CPU than Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2). Both have a Octa-Core processing unit and the same RAM amount. The Huawei Mate 9 Pro's camera is just as good as Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2)'s camera, and although the Huawei Mate 9 Pro has a tinier aperture which is worse for low light images, they both have the same 3840x2160 video definition, the same sensor size, the same 30 fps video frame rates and a 12 MP camera in the back.
Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2) counts with improved battery duration than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, because it has a 5000mAh battery size.
