The Huawei Mate X is better than Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2), having an 89.4 score against 77.4. Both devices in our current comparison come with the same Android 9.0 Pie OS, so you shouldn't notice any difference regarding that. Huawei Mate X's design is newer, but much thicker and incredibly heavier than Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2).
The Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2) features a slightly better display than Huawei Mate X, although it has a really smaller display, a much lower resolution of 1080 x 2280 and a quite lower pixel density. The Huawei Mate X features a bit more storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2), because although it has no slot for SD memory cards, it also counts with more internal memory capacity.

Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2) captures slightly better photographs and videos than Huawei Mate X, although it has a back-facing camera with a much worse resolution and a much smaller back camera sensor taking less light and dull colors, they both have a F1.8 diafragm aperture.
