Sony Xperia Z1 is slightly better than Essential Phone, with a 71.5 score against 66.3. Although Sony Xperia Z1 is incredibly older and a little thicker than Essential Phone, it's body is still just a bit lighter. The Essential Phone has a bit better performance than Xperia Z1, because although it has doesn't have an extra graphics co-processor, it also counts with more RAM memory and a higher number of cores.
Xperia Z1 features a little more vivid display than Essential Phone, although it has a lot worse 1920 x 1080px resolution, a little bit smaller display and a little lower display density. Essential Phone takes just a bit better pictures and videos than Sony Xperia Z1, because although it has a lot smaller back camera sensor giving a lot lower image quality and a way lower resolution camera in the back, it also counts with a bigger camera aperture to capture better photos in low light situations and a much higher 3840x2160 video quality.
Essential Phone has a much better storage capacity to store more games and applications than Xperia Z1, because although it has no slot for an SD memory card, it also counts with 128 GB internal storage capacity. The Essential Phone has just a little better battery duration than Xperia Z1, because it has a 3040mAh battery capacity instead of 3000mAh.
Sony Xperia Z1 not only is the best phones of the ones we compare here, but it's also by far the cheapest.
