The Galaxy S5 is way better than the Gionee Marathon M5, getting a score of 78.2 against 55. The Galaxy S5 is an older phone than Gionee Marathon M5, but Samsung was able to make it extremely lighter and a bit thinner anyway. Both devices in this review have Android OS, but Galaxy S5 has older 5.0 version while Gionee Marathon M5 has Android 5.1 Lollipop version.
Galaxy S5 features an incredibly better looking display than Gionee Marathon M5, because although it has a bit smaller screen, it also counts with a way better resolution of 2560 x 1440px and a much greater pixels count per inch of screen. Galaxy S5 features a bit bigger memory capacity to install games and applications than Gionee Marathon M5, and although they both have the same 16 GB internal storage, the Galaxy S5 also has a SD extension slot that allows up to 128 GB.
The Galaxy S5 counts with a better performance than Gionee Marathon M5, and although they both have 4 cores and a 2 GB RAM, the Galaxy S5 also has an additional graphics co-processor. The Gionee Marathon M5 features a superior battery duration than Samsung Galaxy S5, because it has 6020mAh of battery capacity.
The Galaxy S5 takes much clearer photographs and videos than Gionee Marathon M5, because it has a back-facing camera with a better 16 mega pixels resolution.
The Galaxy S5 costs a bit more money than Gionee Marathon M5, but you can get a much better phone for that few extra dollars.
