Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max has a general score of 93.2, which is much better than the Google Pixel 2 XL's 82.5 score. Even though Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max is extremely heavier than Google Pixel 2 XL, it's just a little thinner and also newer. Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max has a little sharper display than Google Pixel 2 XL, because although it has a bit worse resolution of 1284 x 2778px and a little less pixels per inch of display, it also counts with a quite bigger display.
Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max features as much memory to install applications and games or saving photos and videos as Google Pixel 2 XL, they have the same 128 GB internal storage. The iPhone 12 Pro Max counts with a quite superior processing power than Google Pixel 2 XL, because although it has a lower number of cores (but faster), it also counts with 2 GB more RAM and a 64-bits processor.
