Google Pixel 5 has a score of 89, which is better than Google Pixel 3 XL's 80.7 overall score. The Google Pixel 5 is a lighter cellphone than Google Pixel 3 XL, but they are equally thin. Google Pixel 3 XL features a bit sharper screen than Google Pixel 5, because it has a little bit larger display, a just a bit more pixels per inch of screen and a better resolution of 1440 x 2960px.
The Google Pixel 5 features a bit faster processing unit than Google Pixel 3 XL, and although they both have 8 CPU cores, the Google Pixel 5 also has more RAM memory. The Google Pixel 5 has a way bigger memory for applications, games, photos and videos than Google Pixel 3 XL, because it has 128 GB internal memory.
Google Pixel 5 captures a bit better pictures and videos than Google Pixel 3 XL, and although they both have a same size sensor, a same resolution back-facing camera and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution, the Google Pixel 5 also has a bigger camera aperture to take better images and videos in poorly lited situations and faster video frame rate.

If you are trying to save some dollars, you can get Google Pixel 3 XL, letting go a few features and specs, but you'll get the most out of your savings.
