Comparison review
The Xperia XZ2 Premium has an overall score of 82.2, which is a little bit better than the Google Pixel 3a XL's overall score of 78.9. Although Xperia XZ2 Premium is better than the Google Pixel 3a XL, we must note that it is also older, noticeably heavier and noticeably thicker. Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium has just a little better hardware performance than Google Pixel 3a XL, and although they both have 8 CPU cores, the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium also has 2 GB more RAM.
Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium features a way better looking display than Google Pixel 3a XL, because although it has a bit smaller screen, it also counts with a much better 2160 x 3840 resolution and a way higher count of pixels per inch of screen. Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium captures a bit better photographs and videos than Google Pixel 3a XL, and although they both have the same video frame rates, the same 3840x2160 video quality and the same aperture, the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium also has a way higher resolution back camera and a bigger sensor providing a higher image quality.
The Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium counts with a lot bigger memory to store more apps and games than Google Pixel 3a XL, and although they both have equal internal memory, the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium also has an external SD slot that holds up to 400 GB. Google Pixel 3a XL features a little longer battery lifetime than Xperia XZ2 Premium, because it has a 3700mAh battery capacity.
Although Xperia XZ2 Premium is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Google Pixel 3a XL, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Google Pixel 3a XL. So if you want that extra features, you can buy Xperia XZ2 Premium, else you can save some money and get the Google Pixel 3a XL, resigning some features and specifications.
