The iPhone 8 Plus is better than the Google Pixel 3a, getting a overall score of 87.1 against 78.8. IPhone 8 Plus's construction is a little thinner than Google Pixel 3a, but it's way heavier and was released just 20 months before. The Apple iPhone 8 Plus counts with a bit sharper screen than Google Pixel 3a, although it has a just a little worse number of pixels per inch of screen, a bit smaller display and a bit worse 1080 x 1920 resolution.
Apple iPhone 8 Plus counts with a more powerful processor than Google Pixel 3a, because although it has a smaller amount of RAM and a lower number of cores (although faster), it also counts with a 64 bits processor. IPhone 8 Plus has much more storage for applications and games than Google Pixel 3a, because it has 192 GB more internal memory.
The iPhone 8 Plus features a little bit better camera than Google Pixel 3a, although it has a lower (4K) video resolution, a camera with lesser MP resolution and a smaller back camera sensor which provides a lower photo and video quality, they both have a same size camera aperture. Google Pixel 3a features just a bit longer battery lifetime than iPhone 8 Plus, because it has an 11 percent greater battery capacity.
Although Apple iPhone 8 Plus is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Google Pixel 3a, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Google Pixel 3a. So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy the Apple iPhone 8 Plus, else you can save a couple dollars and get the Google Pixel 3a, giving up some specifications.
