Comparison review
The Xperia 1 has a global score of 82.6, which is a little bit better than Google Pixel 3a's overall score of 78.8. Xperia 1 is a heavier phone than the Google Pixel 3a, but both of them are 0.32inches thick. Sony Xperia 1 counts with a bit better processing power than Google Pixel 3a, and although they both have 8 CPU cores, the Sony Xperia 1 also has a higher amount of RAM.
Sony Xperia 1 has a more vivid display than Google Pixel 3a, because it has a higher screen density, a larger display and a lot higher resolution of 1644 x 3840. Xperia 1 counts with a superior storage capacity to store more apps and games than Google Pixel 3a, because it has a SD memory slot that admits up to 512 GB and 64 GB more internal memory capacity.
Sony Xperia 1 counts with just a bit longer battery performance than Google Pixel 3a, because it has an 11 percent greater battery size. The Xperia 1 has a camera that is very similar to Google Pixel 3a's camera, because although the Xperia 1 has a worse 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution, a less megapixels camera in the back and a tinier back-facing camera sensor shooting lower quality videos and photographs, it also counts with a larger camera aperture.
Although Xperia 1 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Google Pixel 3a, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Google Pixel 3a. So if you need that extra features, you can buy the Xperia 1, but if you don't you can save some dollars and buy the Google Pixel 3a, giving up some specs and features.
