Comparison review
The Google Pixel 3a has an overall score of 78.8, which is a little bit better than the Xperia Z5's score of 77.6. These devices work with Android OS, but the Google Pixel 3a has the newer 11 version and Xperia Z5 has Android 5.1, offering some additional features. Google Pixel 3a's construction is a lot newer and a bit lighter, but also a bit thicker than the Xperia Z5.
The Xperia Z5 has a bit more powerful CPU than Google Pixel 3a, because although it has lesser RAM memory, and they both have the same number of cores, the Xperia Z5 also counts with an additional graphics co-processor. Xperia Z5 counts with a much better display than Google Pixel 3a, although it has a quite smaller display, a bit lower count of pixels per inch in the screen and a bit lower 1920 x 1080 resolution.
Xperia Z5 features a bit better camera than Google Pixel 3a, and although they both have the same video frame rates, the same 3840x2160 video resolution and a F1.8 diafragm aperture, the Xperia Z5 also has a camera with a much better 23 mega-pixels resolution and a larger sensor taking more light and vivid colors.
The Xperia Z5 has a bigger storage capacity for applications and games than Google Pixel 3a, because although it has just 32 GB internal memory capacity, it also counts with a slot for an external memory card that admits a maximum of 200 GB. The Google Pixel 3a has just a little better battery life than Sony Xperia Z5, because it has 3000mAh of battery capacity against 2900mAh.
Despite of being the best phone between the ones we are comparing here, Google Pixel 3a is also a lot cheaper.
