Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro has a score of 81.1, which is just a bit better than the Google Pixel 3a's 78.8 score. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro construction is newer than the Google Pixel 3a's, but it's notably heavier and just a little bit thicker. These devices work with Android OS (Operating System), but the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro has older 10 version and Google Pixel 3a has Android 11 version.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro counts with a bit better performance than Google Pixel 3a, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro also has 2 GB more RAM. Google Pixel 3a features a little sharper screen than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, because although it has a quite lower resolution of 1080 x 2220 pixels and a little bit smaller screen, it also counts with a just a little more pixels per screen inch.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro shoots much better photos and videos than Google Pixel 3a, because although it has a tinier aperture which is not good for low-light photography, and they both have the same (4K) video resolution and the same video frame rates, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro also counts with a back camera with much more mega-pixels and a way larger back-facing camera sensor.
Although Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Google Pixel 3a, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Google Pixel 3a. So if you need that extra specs, you can buy the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and get the Google Pixel 3a, letting go some specifications.
