Comparison review
The Google Pixel 4a 5G has an overall score of 87.5, which is just a bit better than the Huawei P40's general score of 86.4. The Google Pixel 4a 5G body is just a little lighter and just a bit thinner than the Huawei P40, even when both of them were only released 8 months apart. Both phones we are comparing have Android operating system, but the Google Pixel 4a 5G has the newer 11 version while Huawei P40 has Android 10 version, so it provides the user lots of additional features and optimized performance.
The Huawei P40 features a little more vivid display than Google Pixel 4a 5G, because although it has a little smaller screen, and they both have exactly the same resolution of 1080 x 2340, the Huawei P40 also counts with a just a bit more pixels per inch of screen. The Huawei P40 features just a little better processing power than Google Pixel 4a 5G. They have a Octa-Core CPU and the same RAM memory amount.
Huawei P40 has a better camera than Google Pixel 4a 5G, because although it has a tinier aperture which is not favorable for low light photos and video, and they both have the same (4K) video definition and the same video frame rate, the Huawei P40 also counts with a much bigger back-facing camera sensor taking more light and vivid colors and a back facing camera with way more MP.
Huawei P40's storage for applications, games, photos and videos is very similar to Google Pixel 4a 5G's one, they have equal internal memory. Google Pixel 4a 5G has a bit better battery lifetime than Huawei P40, because it has a 2 percent larger battery size.
Although Google Pixel 4a 5G is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Huawei P40, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Huawei P40. So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy the Google Pixel 4a 5G, otherwise you can save some dollars and get the Huawei P40, giving up a couple features and specifications.
