Comparison review
The Google Pixel 4a is a little bit better than the Google Pixel 3a XL, getting a score of 82.9 against 78.9. The Google Pixel 4a body has the same thickness than the Google Pixel 3a XL, but it is lighter. Both of these phones work with the same Android 11 OS (operating system), so you shouldn't notice any difference in that aspect.
The Google Pixel 4a features a bit sharper display than Google Pixel 3a XL, because although it has a little smaller screen, it also counts with a bit higher 1080 x 2340px resolution and a little bit better pixels amount per inch in the screen. Google Pixel 4a features much more memory capacity for games and applications than Google Pixel 3a XL, because it has 128 GB internal memory.
The Google Pixel 4a counts with a little faster processor than Google Pixel 3a XL, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Google Pixel 4a also has a larger amount of RAM. The Google Pixel 3a XL counts with greater battery life than Google Pixel 4a, because it has 3700mAh of battery capacity.
The Google Pixel 3a XL's camera is just as good as the Google Pixel 4a one, and although the Google Pixel 3a XL has a tinier aperture, they both have the same camera sensor size, the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution, the same video frame rate and the same resolution camera in the back.
Although Google Pixel 4a is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Google Pixel 3a XL, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Google Pixel 3a XL. So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy the Google Pixel 4a, else you can save a couple dollars and buy the Google Pixel 3a XL, giving up a couple features and specifications.
