Comparison review
The Google Pixel 5 is just a bit better than Google Pixel 2 XL, getting an 89 score against 82.5. The Google Pixel 5 is a lighter device than the Google Pixel 2 XL, but they are equally thin. The Google Pixel 2 XL counts with a little sharper display than Google Pixel 5, and although they both have a screen with the same size, the Google Pixel 2 XL also has a better resolution of 1440 x 2880 and a bit more pixels per inch of display.
Google Pixel 5 features a bit faster CPU than Google Pixel 2 XL, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Google Pixel 5 also has a higher amount of RAM memory. Google Pixel 2 XL features as much memory for games and applications as the Google Pixel 5 one, both have the same internal memory.
Google Pixel 5 features a little longer battery performance than Google Pixel 2 XL, because it has a 4080mAh battery capacity against 3520mAh. Google Pixel 5 counts with a slightly better camera than Google Pixel 2 XL, and although they both have a same resolution camera in the back and the same 3840x2160 video quality, the Google Pixel 5 also has faster 60 fps video frame rates, a larger camera sensor which offers a higher photo and video quality and a larger aperture to take better images in low light environments.
Although Google Pixel 5 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Google Pixel 2 XL, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Google Pixel 2 XL. So if you need that extra specs, you can buy the Google Pixel 5, but if you don't you can save some money and get the Google Pixel 2 XL, giving up some specifications.
