These devices include Android OS, but the LG G5 has the newer 8.0 Oreo version and HTC One (M8) has Android 5.0 version.

HTC One (M8) features a bit more vivid display than LG G5, although it has a just a little inferior pixels number in each inch of screen, a little bit smaller display and a lot lower 1920 x 1080px resolution. The HTC One (M8) has a little better processing power than LG G5, because although it has a smaller amount of RAM memory, and they both have 4 cores, the HTC One (M8) also counts with a graphics processing unit.

LG G5 features much more storage capacity for apps and games than HTC One (M8), and although they both have equal internal memory capacity, the LG G5 also has a SD card slot that supports a maximum of 1,95 TB. LG G5 has a superior camera than HTC One (M8), because it has a much higher (4K) video quality, a larger back camera sensor providing a higher image quality, a much higher 16 megapixels resolution camera in the back and a larger camera aperture to capture better photography in low light environments.

The LG G5 has a bit better battery performance than HTC One (M8), because it has an 8% greater battery capacity.

Although LG G5 is a better device, it is way more expensive than HTC One (M8), and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the HTC One (M8).
