Google Pixel 5 has a global score of 89, which is better than HTC One M9's 77.7 global score. The Google Pixel 5 is a way newer phone, and it is also somewhat thinner and a bit lighter than HTC One M9. HTC One M9 counts with a much better screen than Google Pixel 5, because although it has a quite smaller display and a quite lower 1920 x 1080 resolution, it also counts with a quite higher pixel count per inch of screen.
Google Pixel 5 counts with a much greater storage to install games and applications than HTC One M9, because although it has no SD memory card expansion slot, it also counts with 128 GB internal storage capacity. The HTC One M9 has a bit superior processing unit than Google Pixel 5, because although it has 5 GB less RAM memory, and they both have the same number of cores, the HTC One M9 also counts with an extra graphics processing unit and a 64 bits processing unit.
The Google Pixel 5 captures clearer photographs and videos than HTC One M9, because although it has a camera in the back with lot less megapixels resolution, a worse (4K) video definition and a smaller sensor providing a worse image quality, it also counts with a much larger aperture for better photography and videos in poorly lited situations.
Google Pixel 5 has a very superior battery lifetime than HTC One M9, because it has a 44% bigger battery capacity.
Although Google Pixel 5 is a better device, it is way more expensive than HTC One M9, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as HTC One M9. So if you need that extra specs, you can buy the Google Pixel 5, else you can save some money and get the HTC One M9, giving up some features and specs.
