The Motorola edge is much better than the HTC One M9, getting a general score of 89.6 against 77.7. Motorola edge's construction is much newer and a little bit thinner than the HTC One M9's, although it's somewhat heavier. Both phones in this comparison have Android OS, but Motorola edge has the newer 10 version and HTC One M9 has Android 5.0, providing you a couple additional features and performance enhancements.
HTC One M9 counts with a brighter screen than Motorola edge, because although it has a bit lower resolution of 1920 x 1080 and a lot smaller screen, it also counts with a little bit greater screen pixel density. The Motorola edge counts with a lot bigger storage capacity for games and applications than HTC One M9, because it has 256 GB internal storage and a slot for SD memory cards that allows a maximum of 1000 GB.
HTC One M9 features a little better hardware performance than Motorola edge, because although it has a smaller amount of RAM, and they both have a Octa-Core CPU, the HTC One M9 also counts with a 64-bits CPU and an additional graphics processor. Motorola edge has a superior battery duration than HTC One M9, because it has a 4500mAh battery capacity.
The Motorola edge features a better camera than HTC One M9, and although they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rate and the same (4K) video definition, the Motorola edge also has a larger diafragm aperture for better photography in low light situations, a much larger sensor which provides a much better photo and video quality and a back facing camera with a way better 64 mega-pixels resolution.
Although Motorola edge is a better device, it costs a lot more than the HTC One M9, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the HTC One M9. So if you want that extra specs, you can buy Motorola edge, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and get the HTC One M9, giving up a couple features and specifications.
