Samsung Galaxy S7 edge has a general score of 78.1, which is a little bit better than the HTC One M9's 77.7 score. Both of these devices use Android operating system, but the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge has the newer 8.0 Oreo version and HTC One M9 has Android 5.0 version. Samsung Galaxy S7 edge's body has the same weight than HTC One M9, but it's a lot thinner.
The HTC One M9 features a faster CPU than Galaxy S7 edge, because although it has a lower amount of RAM, it also counts with a 64-bits CPU, a greater number of cores and a graphics co-processor. The HTC One M9 counts with just a bit better looking screen than Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, although it has a lot lower 1920 x 1080 resolution, a little lower display density and a quite smaller display.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 edge has a slightly better storage capacity to install games and applications than HTC One M9, and although they both have equal internal memory, the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge also has a SD memory card expansion slot that holds a maximum of 200 GB. The Samsung Galaxy S7 edge has greater battery life than HTC One M9, because it has a 27% more battery capacity.
The HTC One M9 features just a bit better camera than Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, because although it has a much smaller camera aperture which is not good for shooting photos and video in low-light situations, and they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rates and the same 3840x2160 video quality, the HTC One M9 also counts with a larger sensor taking higher quality pictures and a camera with a way better resolution.
Although Galaxy S7 edge is a better device, it costs a lot more money than HTC One M9, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the HTC One M9. If you prefer to save some dollars, you can get the HTC One M9, giving up some specs and features, but you'll get the most with your budget.
