Comparison review

The Sony Xperia 1 III is a lot better than HTC One M9, with a 93.3 score against 77.7. Both phones we compare here work with Android OS, but Sony Xperia 1 III has a more recent 11 version while HTC One M9 has Android 5.0 version, so it gives you a couple nice extra features. The Sony Xperia 1 III design is a lot newer and somewhat thinner than the HTC One M9's, but it is heavier.

The HTC One M9 features a little bit better looking display than Xperia 1 III, although it has a way lower display pixels density, a way smaller display and a way worse 1920 x 1080 resolution. Xperia 1 III has a much greater storage capacity to install games and applications than HTC One M9, because it has 256 GB internal storage capacity and an external memory card slot that supports up to 1 TB.

HTC One M9 has a bit better processing power than Xperia 1 III, because although it has 9 GB lesser RAM memory, and they both have 8 cores, the HTC One M9 also counts with an additional graphics processor and a 64-bits processor. The Xperia 1 III captures slightly better videos and photos than HTC One M9, because although it has a worse video quality and a back camera with a lot worse resolution, it also counts with a much bigger aperture and a lot larger back-facing camera sensor providing a lot higher image quality.

The Xperia 1 III has a superior battery lifetime than HTC One M9, because it has a 4500mAh battery capacity against 2840mAh.

Although Xperia 1 III is a better device, it is way more expensive than HTC One M9, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the HTC One M9. If you are trying to save some dollars, you can buy the HTC One M9, giving up a few features and specs, but you will get the most out of your budget.
