Comparison review

Sony Xperia 5 II is better than HTC One M9, having an 87.2 score against 77.7. Even though Sony Xperia 5 II is a little bit heavier than HTC One M9, it's somewhat thinner and also a lot newer. The HTC One M9 counts with a sharper display than Xperia 5 II, although it has a little bit lower pixels quantity per screen inch, a little worse resolution of 1920 x 1080 and a quite smaller display.

The Xperia 5 II features a much greater memory to store more games and applications than HTC One M9, because it has a slot for an external memory card that supports a maximum of 1000 GB and 96 GB more internal storage. HTC One M9 has just a little better hardware performance than Sony Xperia 5 II, because although it has less RAM memory, and they both have 8 cpu cores, the HTC One M9 also counts with a GPU and a 64 bits CPU.

Xperia 5 II counts with a superior battery life than HTC One M9, because it has a 41 percent greater battery capacity. The Xperia 5 II has a slightly better camera than HTC One M9, because although it has a worse 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution and a way less MP camera in the back, it also counts with a way bigger diafragm aperture for better photos and video in poorly lited environments and a much larger back-facing camera sensor.

Although Sony Xperia 5 II is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than HTC One M9, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as HTC One M9. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can buy HTC One M9, and give up a couple features, but you'll get the most with your savings.
