The Huawei Mate 9 Pro has an overall score of 78.7, which is just a bit better than the HTC U11 life's 74.5 overall score. The Huawei Mate 9 Pro is an older and heavier cellphone than the HTC U11 life, but Huawei could make it a little thinner anyway. Huawei Mate 9 Pro counts with a bit better screen than HTC U11 life, because it has a better resolution of 1440 x 2560px, more pixels per inch in the display and a little bigger screen.
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro has a little better hardware performance than HTC U11 life, and although they both have 8 processing cores, the Huawei Mate 9 Pro also has a larger amount of RAM memory. The HTC U11 life counts with much more memory capacity to store more apps and games than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, because although it has only 32 GB internal memory, it also counts with a slot for an external memory card that holds up to 1,95 TB.
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro features a superior battery lifetime than HTC U11 life, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity against 2600mAh. The HTC U11 life takes a bit better photos and videos than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and although they both have the same video frame rates and the same (4K) video definition, the HTC U11 life also has a camera with a way better 16 mega-pixels resolution and a larger aperture to take better images and video in poorly lited situations.
Although Huawei Mate 9 Pro is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the HTC U11 life, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as HTC U11 life. If you prefer to save some dollars, you can buy the HTC U11 life, letting go a few features and specifications, but you will get the most with your budget.
