Huawei Mate 9 Pro is a bit better than HTC U11, having a score of 78.7 against 77.6. Huawei Mate 9 Pro's construction has the same weight than the HTC U11, but it is just a little thinner. Huawei Mate 9 Pro and HTC U11 count with very similar processing units, and although the Huawei Mate 9 Pro has 2 GB more RAM, they both have the same number of cores.
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro and HTC U11 feature really similar screens, both have exactly the same 1440 x 2560px resolution, a higher number of pixels per inch of screen and a display with the same size. HTC U11 captures slightly better pictures and videos than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and although they both have the same video frame rates, the same (4K) video quality and the same resolution back facing camera, the HTC U11 also has a bigger back camera sensor capturing more light and vivid colors and a way larger aperture for better photos and video in low light situations.
Huawei Mate 9 Pro counts with just a bit bigger memory capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than HTC U11, because although it has no SD memory slot, it also counts with more internal storage. Huawei Mate 9 Pro has greater battery lifetime than HTC U11, because it has a 4000mAh battery size against 3000mAh.
Although Huawei Mate 9 Pro is a better device, it costs a lot more money than HTC U11, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as HTC U11. If you are trying to save a few dollars, you can get HTC U11, letting go some specs and features, but you will get the most with your money.
