The Asus ROG Phone 8 is a newer device than the HTC U12 Life, but it is a little bit thicker and a lot heavier.
The Asus ROG Phone 8 features a much better screen than HTC U12 Life, because although it has a little bit inferior pixel amount in each display inch, it also counts with a little bigger display and a bit higher resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. Asus ROG Phone 8 has a superior storage capacity for apps and games than HTC U12 Life, because although it has no SD memory card expansion slot, it also counts with 256 GB internal storage.
The HTC U12 Life features a much powerful CPU than Asus ROG Phone 8, although it has a lower amount of RAM, they both have the same number of cores. Asus ROG Phone 8 features a very superior camera than HTC U12 Life, because it has a back facing camera with much more mega pixels, a lot higher video quality and a larger aperture to capture better low-light photos.
Asus ROG Phone 8 counts with a much better battery performance than HTC U12 Life, because it has a 53 percent bigger battery capacity.
