The Moto Z2 Play is a bit better than the HTC U12 Life, having a 77.4 score against 74.4. Despite of the fact that the Moto Z2 Play is older than the HTC U12 Life, it's design is lighter and noticeably thinner. The Moto Z2 Play and HTC U12 Life feature extremely similar displays, although the Moto Z2 Play has a little inferior count of pixels per inch of screen, a little bit worse 1080 x 1920 resolution and a quite smaller screen.
Moto Z2 Play features a much bigger memory capacity to store more apps and games than HTC U12 Life, and although they both have equal 64 GB internal memory, the Moto Z2 Play also has a slot for an external memory card that allows a maximum of 1,95 TB. Motorola Moto Z2 Play has a bit better CPU than HTC U12 Life. Both have the same number of cores and the same RAM amount.
The HTC U12 Life features superior battery lifetime than Moto Z2 Play, because it has 3600mAh of battery capacity instead of 3000mAh. HTC U12 Life has a slightly better camera than Moto Z2 Play, because although it has a smaller diafragm aperture which is worse for taking photos and/or video in low-light environments, and they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rates and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video definition, the HTC U12 Life also counts with a much higher resolution back facing camera.
