Galaxy J8 has a score of 76.7, which is just a bit better than the HTC U12 Life's 74.4 general score. Both of these phones include Android OS (operating system), but the Galaxy J8 has 10 version and HTC U12 Life has Android 8.1 Oreo. The Galaxy J8 construction is just a bit heavier but a little thinner than HTC U12 Life, and they were only released 2 months apart.

Galaxy J8 counts with a processing unit that is just as good as HTC U12 Life's processor, both of them have 8 cores and a 4 GB RAM memory. The HTC U12 Life features a much better looking display than Galaxy J8, and although they both have a screen of the same size, the HTC U12 Life also has a lot higher resolution of 1080 x 2160px and more pixels per display inch.

The Samsung Galaxy J8 has slightly more storage for applications and games than HTC U12 Life, and although they both have the same internal storage capacity, the Samsung Galaxy J8 also has a SD memory slot that admits a maximum of 256 GB. HTC U12 Life counts with a little better battery lifetime than Galaxy J8, because it has 3600mAh of battery capacity instead of 3500mAh.

The HTC U12 Life counts with a bit better camera than Galaxy J8, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not recommended for capturing pictures and videos in low light environments, and they both have the same resolution back camera, the HTC U12 Life also counts with a much higher 3840x2160 video definition.
