The Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact is a bit better than HTC U12 Life, getting a overall score of 79 against 74.4. These phones come with Android OS (operating system), but Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact has the older 8.0 Oreo version while HTC U12 Life has Android 8.1 Oreo version. Even though the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact and the HTC U12 Life were released with only a couple months difference, the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact design is a bit lighter but incredibly thicker.

The Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact has a much better display than HTC U12 Life, because although it has a little bit smaller display, and they both have exactly the same resolution of 1080 x 2160, the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact also counts with a quite greater display density. The Xperia XZ2 Compact features a bigger storage for games and applications than HTC U12 Life, and although they both have exactly the same internal storage capacity, the Xperia XZ2 Compact also has an external memory slot that allows a maximum of 400 GB.
