Comparison review
The Galaxy A40 is a little bit better than the Huawei Mate 10, having a general score of 79.6 against 78.9. Both of these phones have Android OS (Operating System), but Galaxy A40 has a more recent 11 version while Huawei Mate 10 has Android 10, so it gives a couple additional features and increased performance. Galaxy A40's design is newer, noticeably lighter and a bit thinner than the Huawei Mate 10.
The Huawei Mate 10 features a bit more powerful processor than Galaxy A40. Both of them have the same number of cores and a 4 GB RAM memory. Huawei Mate 10 counts with a brighter screen than Galaxy A40, and although they both have a same size display, the Huawei Mate 10 also has a little better pixel count in each inch in the display and a higher 1440 x 2560 resolution.
The Huawei Mate 10 has just a bit better camera than Samsung Galaxy A40, because although it has a smaller back-facing camera sensor which provides a worse image and video quality and a back camera with lot less megapixels resolution, it also counts with a much better 3840x2160 (4K) video quality and a larger camera aperture to capture better low-light photography and videos.
The Galaxy A40 features a bit bigger storage for applications and games than Huawei Mate 10, and although they both have the same internal storage, the Galaxy A40 also has a slot for external memory cards that allows a maximum of 512 GB. Huawei Mate 10 counts with longer battery life than Samsung Galaxy A40, because it has a 4000mAh battery size.
